I don't claim a religion... I claim a relationship with Jesus.
In my opinion its not religion that earns you the right to make it to Heaven.
I also don't believe that because there are different religious churches
that they are all wrong or right.
I do believe that it is important to be involved in a Bible believing
teaching God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost church of some kind.
Its important for your Spiritual growth.
The Word also says to not forsake the assembling of ourselves.

HEBREWS 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:
and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Favorite verses:

2CORINTHIANS 10:3-5
10:3
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

How did u meet-Jesus: Wow..thats no small question.....
other than writing a novel that you know I'm not ready to write yet.....
the abridged version would be I first met Jesus when I was 20...
shortly after mom died. My sister had been ministering to me for a few years off and on
before that. I got word that mom was in the hospital for some 'tests'....
I was living about 100 miles away at the time.
6 hours later, she was dead. By the time I arrived, she was already in a coma.
That was the blow that crushed any pride, ego, hope, strength, everything that I had left.
I had spent those 20 years trying unsuccessfully to live with a past
that most people wouldn't even survive.
Thats when I got on my knees and gave my life to Christ....
I not only knew I couldn't live without Him, I didn't want to.
Within the next 1.5 yrs., when all the problems I had didn't magically go away,
and all the struggles I had to just live in this world,
I turned my back on Jesus....a conscious decision.
I remember it like it was yesterday,
it was one of many of those self destructive decisions I made.
I remember thinking at the time....uh huh, I'll show you world...
I was full of hate, self pity, remorse and grief and had no clue how to live with it.
I didn't know at the time that He can do anything....
the only stipulation is everything doesn't get done on my timetable....
its HIS will....not mine that counts.
I had no clue about that then.
Hmmm....this is supposed to be abridged? :)
Anyways, I turned my back on Christ at that time and spent 10 years
.....backsliding?....not by a long shot.
I was in a headlong full speed trip thru hell on my way there and I didn't even care.
After 10 years of self imposed torture and torment, violence, alcoholism and drug addiction,
practically every imaginable form of insanity....
I turned to Jesus......no......more like ran back.
I remember falling to my knees, beaten, defeated, helpless and hopeless,
more than I could ever imagine. That was about 10 years ago or so.....
I not only know different today, I know 'better'.
He IS my only rock,
He IS my only hope,
He IS my only Master
and there are no words to describe the gratitude I have
that He never turned His back on me.......not once,
even when I hated Him, blamed Him for everything and cursed Him......
all He ever did and has ever done was and IS to love me.
He loved me .......not back to life....I never lived until I met Him......no,
He loved me INTO life and I will be forever grateful for that!
Praise His holy Name....the name above ALL names!!
Jesus.....Master....Saviour.....Jesus.

What does Christian^Praise mean to u: bottom line? ....its His channel.....
it will be and mean what He would have it to be,
any way that I can help that happen is my responsibility as part of the channel.
What it means to me doesn't really matter,
the key is what it should be.
What it means to me has changed,
initially it meant a place to get some goood Christian songs.....
its grown to mean a lot more than that.....now,
it means an opportunity to serve Him in a new way, in a new environment.

What does being a christian mean: Like we talked before,
Christian means many things to me......
first and foremost it means a personal relationship with Jesus......without that,
there is nothing.
Over n above that, it means a lifestyle, an attitude...ie an attitude of gratitude,
or prayer and worship,
it also means a mentality, a set of beliefs,
values and morals and maybe more than anything.....it means life,
here and now....and forever more.

How did u meet-Jesus:About a dozen years ago I was teaching a class
in public access television production, and I had become very good friends
with a couple of my students.
One day we we hanging around together and I asked one of them
what his plans were for the weekend. He answered that he was going on retreat
at a Passionist Monastery, and then asked if I wanted to join him.
I hadn't been to church in several years at that point,
so I was shocked to hear myself answer yes.
Over the course of that weekend (Holy Week Triduum)
God really spoke to me.
He welcomed me back into his arms unconditionally.
It was a truly humbling experience.
I guess the time was just... Right.

What does Christian^Praise mean to u: I love Christian music.
There are styles to appeal to so many tastes,
and the message and love of Christ pour from all of them.
The music gets people thinking about their own faith,
feeling the power of their own faith.
But, the music is just a catalyst,
those thoughts and feelings need fellowship and community,
corroboration and confirmation. A group like this can offer that and more.

What does being a christian mean: I have had lots of "titles".
Teacher, administrator, husband, father, friend... but "Christian" is probably my favorite.
The others each bring to mind a certain aspect of my being or my personality, but "Christian"
brings up EVERYTHING that is good in me.

Christianity a religion: yes

Explain Christianity: Yes in the technical sense,
although the word "religion" itself actually means "to bind".
Faith shouldn't be bound.
I was raised as a Catholic, and I bring my own children to a Catholic church
because its practices are closest to my own personal faith, yet I try not to be bound.

Background: I live in North Carolina (org. Georgia boy)
I'm 41, married 23 years, with 2 kids and 2 grandkids and 2 more on the way.
I work as a golf course superintendent, which I've been doing since 1980.
I was in the Marines for 4 years.

How did u meet-Jesus: I meet my Saviour in 1972 in a theater in Savannah, Ga.
The movie "For Pete's Sake" was playing and an invitation given afterward
and I took Christ as my Lord and Saviour

What does Christian^Praise mean to u: the channel is a possibility to witness to the unsaved
and to help other christians, and play and share praise and worship music with others

What does being a christian mean: one who follows Christ, or one who lives Christ-like.
One who will show compassion to a fellow man no matter who they are
