I imagine God has had it in the womb for many years *smile* He just needed me to decide to do as I'm told and give Birth to it
S.W.A.T.TEENS started in Mobile Alabama Originally they
were Kids For Christ and that began at a lil
country Church in 8 mile Alabama Bearfork
Assembly with Bro Ray Thompson as the Lead
Pastor
Sister Phyllis was there first
then I joined in helping her in aprox. April
of 1996 Thats when they were named After
being there for a time we expanded to a
different church closer to the neighborhoods
where a ministry was needed
In January of
1999 Sis Phyllis and I split up the
ministry We are and were still very
close We also still worked
together however God moved me to Wilmer where
S.W.A.T. was born.
"Delivery Night"
God spoke
to me when I was in a service with Phyllis at
the place where she was at the time. The pastor there
said "We need a swat team to go out and reach
these people in these bad neighborhoods and
bring them in". All of a sudden I heard. "Saints With Authority Today".
That was my ministry. God told me of it right then. Gods a good Father He
gives us everything we need. Absolutely Everything, but lets it stay
far enough away for us to strive and learn so we
can make it and stand. Gaining strength.
A year later we were still S.W.A.T but as of January 2000 we moved to
Dallas Texas. We still stay in touch with our
original members. But just to let you in on
what's going on or what was happening when we
left I created this page. Alabama
We have had our Milk
for a long time and I really feel we are getting to the finger food "hands on hard work"
Since Moving to Texas I was really beginning to wonder
what and how and who and so on
I have always known that I have a work to do for God and I feel so out of place not doing SOMETHING
I began to pray and seek God on how HE wanted me to do things and the first was to make sure I had my family in line and did those things HE expects me to do here at home and in
"myself"
I have learned and it makes perfect sense that I can't very well minister to others or reach others when my own is such a mess. I have come to that revelation so strongly here lately (May 2002)
You know the scripture about being able to work with much after you have worked with little (paraphrased) HE can't and won't give me more until I'm prepared and have accomplished working with a little (not that my crew is little *smile*)
We have been here in Texas for more then 2 years now and God is moving things so wonderfully we are seeing many doors opening and meeting others who are where we are in ministry and wanting to participate with us with
the school, food pantry, clothes closet, and we are beginning to get the word out that there is a Youth group here.
We would love to get another building Right now we are working out of our own home.
We want to be able to have Youth Night on Saturdays and keep food and clothes for anyone in need.
So keep us in your prayers as we "grow" to be the Ministry God would have us to be and to reach and touch everyone that we come in contact with!
