All of these apply to the HOLY SPIRIT,
which means the HOLY SPIRIT is GOD.
They all also apply to the FATHER and to JESUS the SON.
They are The ultimate Trinity..
They are all three as One
Look at a triangle.
It has three sides, but each side is a third of one triangle.
In a similar way, God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit
are each a third of the trinity, or three in one.
The Holy Spirit is a part of the trinity.
He is equal with the God Father and God the Son.
The Bible talks of all three of them.
All were there when Jesus was Baptised in water.
The Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, flew down to Jesus.
Then a voice from Heaven said,
"You are my Son, whom I love;
with you I am well pleased" Luke3:22 (NIV)
Since the voice called Jesus "my Son,"
we know it was the voice of God the Father.
Jesus told His disciples to baptize believers
in the water in the name of
The Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
The three Persons of the trinity are different, but equal.
You maybe confused by the word Spirit or Ghost.
Think back to the qualities of God.
One of the qualities is Omnipresence
The Holy Spirit is not like cartoon ghosts.
He cant be seen, yet He is everywhere.
He can be with all Christians at the same time.
Sometimes symbols help us understand about God a little better.
For example, Jesus is called the Bread of Life.
That doesn't mean He looks like bread.
It means Jesus can satisfy our soul's spiritual hunger just
as bread satisfies our body's physical hunger.
Symbols are often used to help us understand
more about the Holy Spirit too.
The wind is sometimes used to describe Him.
We can hear the wind and see what it does,
but we can't see the wind itself.
In the same way we can feel the Holy Spirit,
even though we can't see Him with our eyes.
The Holy Spirit is also described by personal qualities.
The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit knows everything.
He helps people know the truth.
The Holy Spirit also has a will.
He speaks through people as He chooses
and gives gifts to certain people according to what He thinks is best.
He can talk to us.
He also has emotions or feeling.
He can feel sad, and He can show love to us.
The Holy Spirit gives us a greater love for God,
for Jesus,
and for everyone around us.
The Holy Spirit is also called the counselor... comforter.
When Jesus walked on this earth.
He was with His disciples for three years.
Can you imagine how they must of felt
to hear Jesus tell them
He was going away?
Jesus knew how they felt so He told them that...
"I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever."
John 14:16
Someone was coming to be with them
when Jesus left to go back to Heaven.
That someone was the Counselor, the Comforter..The Holy Spirit.
He did come and He will remain with us forever!
The Holy Spirit did not come to erase the memory
of Jesus from the disciples' minds or ours.
He came to Glorify Jesus.
